a camp site has a few legal requirements.

you have an obligation to provide ambient lighting at night.
you have to have access through the camp site wide enough for a fire engine to gain access
you have to provide "adequate" access to individual tents.
there should also be a fire point available on site with a fire safety sign, 2 fire extinuishers and a means of alerting people.
other areas of site safety include securing any gas bottles used for heaters, this can be done by a cheap padlock and chain.
