The next BJC will be in Southend (Essex) in April 2012 see their website: www.bjc2012.co.uk.

The most recent British Juggling Convention was BJC 24, Nottingham, 2011.

History

The first British Juggling Convention was a two day convention in London in 1988, organised by Max Oddball and Charlie Holland. Since then it has been run by a different team in a different location each year, reaching a high of over 2000 attendees in Coventry in 1992.
See the BJC History page for more facts, figures and stories. If you've got information, stories or anecdotes of your own, please feel free to add them!

Who organises the BJC?

The short answer is "Anyone who wants to!" Read the page How is the BJC organised? for an overview of the organisational structure, which is mainly conspicuous by its absence.

Does that mean I could run one?

Maybe you could!

If you think you might like to run a BJC, Do you have what it takes? will help you work out whether this is something you could take on.

Right! I'm submitting a bid. What's next?

Have a read through the articles on What needs doing?. This is where you can find all the detail on everything that goes into running a BJC, from shows to generators to toilets.

Being The Boss is an essay on the skills required to be in charge of a project of this size.

Helpful Little Tips

Legalities explains a few of the legal issues involved.

Who can help? has a list of experienced people able and willing to lend a hand.

Other resources lists a lot of other websites and articles that may be useful.

How this site works

Here, anyone can edit anything. Things you read are not the statements of any authoritative "BJC organisation" - they are opinions and people's (perhaps imperfect) memory of facts. Please don't use anything here as your only source of legal advice. If you see anything that's wrong, please fix it!
